WHEW!!

A week ago Cindy's parents - Tom & Dora - showed up to help us do some upgrades. Well. . .we did it! Thanks to their help we were able to. .
  • Replace the counter top
  • Add new sink (it's deeper)
  • Add new garbage disposal (you say dispose-all, I say disposal)
  • Removed wallpaper columns from the breakfast area and kitchen
  • Added textured wallpaper in breakfast area (to cover up existing "marble" wallpaper)
  • Painted the kitchen and breakfast area (Gobe Desert - light tan)
  • Cleaned out cabinets
  • Cleaned up and organized laundry room
  • Removed old door & frame on the dog's room
  • Installed new door and doggy door on the dog's room - now called the Rec Room
  • Installed tile in the Rec Room
  • Installed new water heater
  • Called for a chiropractor and a masseuse! (Ok we haven't done this yet)
If it hadn't been for Tom & Dora there's no way we we would have accomplished all that we did. Thanks Big T and Miss Dora!

This week we moved things around - Elliptical from the office to the Rec Room, my bike to the Rec Room - along with my running and cycling stuff, space for the Harley, cleaned up and organize shelves, and moved my tool box back.

Today is yard work and car cleaning!

I think Cindy's going to be looking forward to going back to school just to get some rest!

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Yesterday was the Day

Yeah, ok, so it the title should read Today is the Day! But I was busy last night so I didn't get a chance to post. So. . .it's Yesterday was the Day . " The day for what? ", you may be asking yourself. Mmmmmmm. . . If you've been tracking things here at Soakin' Up Life you know that I haven't been soakin' up very much lately because I've been so worn out. Well. . .last week the guys I meet with each week for Bible study jumped my case about not working out, running, cycling, or SOMETHING! Then, when got home yesterday a friend of mine TOLD me to get on my bike and hit the road - not suggest, told me to head out the door! I took their advice. I hung up the phone, changed clothes, grabbed my bike and headed out the door for a 20-mile ride. What a difference 20 miles makes.
