Just wanted to let those of you who read my blogs know that God has put someone new in my life. Her name is Cindy and she has a heart for God, missions, and children. During the school year she teaches first graders. During the summer she can usually be found on a mission trip directing or working with children. She has a great smile, beautiful eyes, and she makes me laugh. So you can get an idea of what she looks like here are a couple of pics of her: Just wanted to show her off bit! Mike

Saying Goodbye to an Old Friend

Image
Today I say goodbye to an old friend - my dog, Mix. He was about 12 years old. Pretty old for a dog. I came home last night and found that he had passed away sometime late yesterday evening or last night. Mix, a blue heeler - for those of you outside of Texas, he was a cow dog - was my only male dog out of the three. He was my buddy. When he was younger he would jump and catch a frisby in his mouth. Later when we lived in Terrell, Texas - a farming and ranching community east of Dallas - he would jump in my Trooper and off we would go to see friends. All it would take would be a tip of my hat towards the back door and he would quietly meet me there so as not to let the girls, Dakota and Sadie, know the boys were up to something and off we would go. He loved riding in the front seat with with the window down. Doing like a lot of dogs do - sticking his head out of the window and his nose into the wind. He even got to go run and play in the nearby pastures with a real life

Tanzania - the Journey

OK. . .I'm home for a while now. It has been a wild month and a half. Between camps, mission trip, and family reunions I haven't had much time to write. So, I 'm going to try to make up for it now. A little at a time, of course! I know that many of you had been praying for the mission trip to Tanzania during the latter part of June. Thank you so much for all your prayerful support. We saw God do amazing things throughout our trip. My part of the trip began on Sunday, June 17, when myself and four ladies began our journey to catch up with the rest of the group that left town on June 14. The journey itself was an adventure. Throughout our trip I saw God move in us, around us, and through us. We left on the 17th headed for Atlanta to catch a plane for Chicago where we were supposed to head to London, then on to Addis Ababa, Ethopia, and finally to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Just as we were scheduled to get on the plane to London we were told that the 4:00 pm flight t

Holy Freakin' Cow!! I didn't realize it had been a month since my last blog. Sorry guys, but I've been on the road for the entire month of June. Actually I was home about 4 days, but of those 4 days some friends came in for 3 of them. Anyway. . .I'm home and I will be updating the ol' blog on a regular basis. I've got some trip info/updates for you, some ministry things in the works, and some pics to go along with them. Meanwhile, have a great 4th of July. Remember that our freedom did not come without a price. And our freedom should not be taken for granted. May God Bless America! Mike
