Denver on My Mind. . .et al

This time next week I'll be kickin' back with Grant English gettin' me some G love in person! Take that Clay. OK, maybe that didn't come out like it was supposed to. That's right folks I'm gonna be hangin' with Grant in Denver. Grant and I went to seminary together and served as interns at Legacy Church back in the day. Can't wait. . .Colorado in March. . .see Amy (last time I saw Ames, Coop had just been born and Big T was still at Legacy). . .sippin' some caffeine. . .and enjoying the company. . .all in one anticipated weekend.


As though that would be enough for one week I'm also going to be with Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio, and Matt Redman for the How Great is Our God tour on Wednesday night. I'm super pumped. Chris Tomlin is a Texas boy - grew up with a friend of mine. Tomlin was one of Karen's favorite worship leaders and writers. Never heard Louie Gigglio or Matt Redman in person, but I'm looking forward to the opportunity to do so.

So. . .next week's going to be a series of incredible opportunities and I cannot wait.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? Need a speaker that speaks truth with wisdom? Get Randles. College or students. He's good. But the late nights and early mornings - WHEW!!

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
