Timing is Everything

They say "timing is everything." I believe it more true after yesterday afternoon.

You know yesterday's post about the new pet? Well. . .you won't believe what happened.

I had just shared with everyone that I acquired a new pet; a fish I named Sir Vivor. Vivor survived hurricanes, my dogs, my draining the pond, and who nows what. BUT. . .he didn't survive living in the bucket. That's right! I got the tank, got it running - plants and all - and were waiting the suggested 24 hours before I put him in the tank when I noticed Vivor wasn't swimming very well. Actually, he wasn't swimming at all!

Yep, ol' Vivor was dead! STINK! Now I've got to go get some fish, because of all I've invested in fish stuff. Oh well. PetsMart here I come!

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that?
