Heading Home

I was able to access the hotel's internet service for a few minutes so I thought I would take a few moments to let everyone know that Cindy and I are doing OK. We are tired, but doing well. We head home this afternoon and plan on being back in Portland Monday afternoon - providing nothing goes wrong with our flights.

We had a great trip over and have had an exciting time serving alongside our co-laborers in Christ. Cindy took some wonderful pictures and video of our time here. I'm sure we will be sharing them. We are looking forward to getting back, sleeping in our own bed and hanging with Lucy & Dot.

I will write about our trip some more when we get back home and share some of the God-moments we encountered while ministering in Tanzania.

Thank you, all, who have been praying for us. We could feel your prayers and appreciate them very much.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
