What if . . .?

I was thinking this morning - I know, that's a very dangerous thing. But I was thinking, what if we all came or went to church this morning ready to . . .
  • ready to worship and get excited about worship,
  • ready to encourage someone else,
  • ready to pray for each other and for God's will to be done,
  • ready to study God's Word and respond to it in a way that pleases Him,
  • ready to fellowship (real koinonia kind of stuff, not the talking football over bad coffee and donuts fellowship),
  • ready to see the Spirit of God to drown us with His presence,
  • ready to see God transform lives, marriages, families, and communities
  • ready for revival to break out - this would scare most of us since most of us have rarely experienced true revival
  • ready to serve and meet the needs of those around us - in the church and in our communities,
  • ready for God to do SOMETHING?!
My heart breaks for churches who have never asked the question, "What if. . .?" They don't know what they are missing.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? Need a speaker that speaks truth with wisdom? Get Randles. College or students. He's good. But the late nights and early mornings - WHEW!!

Question for You

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
