Our Texas visit before and after camp

Happy trails to us! Until we meet again! or until we visit Texas again anyway....Here is a sum up of our 12 day visit with family, friends, camp, friends, then family again! Yes, in that order.

First, we visited Mike's hometown of Waxahachie, TX. We got to stay with his mom and brother, visited a haunted catfish restaurant (seriously, Catfish Plantation, look it up), swim in his dad's pool and eat, eat, eat. Mike also got to share at First Baptist Church, Waxahachie. We got to hang out with Maggie and TJ (niece and nephew), visit with one of Mike's old friend, Phillip and his family (cutie's), and also got to meet Karen's youngest brother and his family! Mike also got to speak at First Baptist Church, Terrell, TX on Sunday night, his first church that he served at. And that's just the first visit in Texas.

Here is a picture of Philip and his family! Philip owns the local Chick-fil-a in Waxahachie.

Here is the newest member of the Browne family!

While teaching at camp, we make good of our time and visit with more old friends. One of Mike's good friends, Steve, whom he used to serve with at Carpenter's Way Baptist Church in Lufkin, TX, is the assistant director at the camp and the family is close by. I love to visit my friend Pam, his wife, and their daughter, Erica, and grandkids were in too.....what fun! There's Erica's son Bishop (he is already taking football scholarships), and Justin's daughter Amelia. The dog in the kitchen is their dog Hank, and the dog in the sofa, is a stray dog they have been taking care of and named her Sally. I think she's found her home huh? The cat is Mama Kitty. Fitting don't you think, I would want to mess with that cat. And you guys though Lucy was fat? She is 2 of Lucy! It looks like she even ate Lucy already for dinner! Here are some pictures of that visit.

After camp, we headed to Plano, TX to visit, you guessed it, more old friends! We got the joy to stay with Randy and Tama Lawson and their 3 kids. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of you guys. YOU ARE SO LUCKY THIS TIME TAMA! :) We did get to meet up with one of Mike's high school friend, Kenny, for lunch at Snuffer's. It was great to finally meet you Kenny, now I can put a face with all the stories Mike tells me, all good ones of course :) Sunday we went to Legacy Church to meet and have lunch with Gene and Kim Wilkes. Mike used to attend there and interned there when God called Mike into the ministry. It was a blessing to meet you guys too!

Finally, on our last day, we stopped by Brandon and Sarah's house in Dallas. Brandon is Mike's brother. They recently have bought an older Craftsmen style house and are fixing it up beautifully. Here is the happy family with his wife, Sarah, and their son Bennett.

There you have it......around the state of Texas in 12 days with the Shipp family! Stay tuned, more travels still to come!
