Camp wrap up


Camp went great! We arrived Monday and checked in and Mike got things set up for his Bible studies with the boys. Campers arrived and we started the camp with evening praise and worship with the John Sherrill Band and our speaker was Jonathon Hewitt, all local Texans except for us and the girls Bible study leader, Courtney Bullord with idministries.com, who was from Oklahoma. The camp has full days Tuesday through Thursday and Friday is morning worship and go home. Mike had the oppourtunity to teach the jr.high boys after breakfast, then high school boys. We break for lunch, then Mike taught 4 small groups the rest of the afternoons. We know Mike likes to talk, but he was exhausted! After small groups, we headed for dinner, worship, and late night crazy activities that can only take place at camp. Hilarious times! Thats about the sum of it! Here are some pictures to wrap it up! P.S. I made the signs for Mike's teaching area, it says "No Girls Allowed!", but a girl made it! :)

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? The worship was great - thanks to the brown band ! Hey Michell, Gabi, Rooster, Noah, and #14. They'll get it. Jon Randles really challenged us with his messages - 7 Marks of a Disciple . Need a speaker that speaks truth with wisdom? Get Randles. College or students. He's good. But the late nights and early mornings - WHEW!!

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
