It Was Time to Upgrade

This week Cindy and I updated our cell phone plan. We combined our plans to one big plan and part of the upgrade was getting Cindy a new phone. She had been using a old Nokia. She had used it so long she wore the numbers and letters right off of the buttons.

So what did she get? A Samsung Blackjack II. It's like a Blackberry, but without the Blackberry service charge. . Here's a list of some of the features:
  • Microsoft® Windows Mobile 6 Standard(TM)
  • AT&T Mobile Music and Cellular Video capable
  • Windows Media Player® 10 Mobile
  • Bluetooth® 2.0® wireless connectivity
  • Simultaneous voice and data capabilities
  • Quad-band world phone with tri-band UMTS/HSDPA
  • Slim design PDA with full QWERTY keyboard
  • 2 MP camera with video recording
  • Microsoft® Direct Push for real-time email delivery
  • Microsoft Office Mobile® - Edit Word® and Excel®, view PowerPoint® files
  • Email - Xpress Mail, ActiveSync, and more
  • Synchronize your desktop and calendar wirelessly
  • Instant Messaging - AOL®, Windows Live®, Yahoo!®
  • GPS support for TeleNav Navigator
  • Hands-free loudspeaker and microphone
  • Large 2.4"color LCD screen
  • Video Share calling support
  • Fast loading HTML browser
  • Support for Mobile Backup
  • MEdiaTM Net capable
  • RSS Reader

And here's what it looks like:

She picked the red one. She even got a 3-day trial of XM Radio. Of course after the trial she would have to pay of it. We may not subscribe to it, but I thought it was a pretty cool addition.

The only thing I hate about new phone is the connections change. Why can't everyone use the same connection for headphones, power supplies, etc. Now we have to buy all the stuff for the road! Ahhhggg!!!!

Oh well. She's really enjoyed using it. It's also safer, I found out, for Cindy to drive with this thing. She doesn't try texting anyone with this phone because of the keyboard and how difficult it is for her to drive and text someone. Maybe her insurance will go down now! :)

So there you have it. It was time to upgrade our plans and for Cindy to get a new phone. We've made the switch and I think everyone will be happier for the upgrade.

Enjoy it Cindy!
