Back from the Beach!

Well, we're back. The weather was wonderful and we had a great time.

On Friday I picked Cindy up from school - she did very well, she had her bags packed on Thursday - and we hit I-10 East. Got to the condo about 5:00 pm and just crashed. Fixed a sandwich and watched The Kingdom (Jamie Foxx even mentions his home town, Terrell, TX).

Since this was a weekend to relax it was also a weekend for snacks. I actually got to eat Milk Duds, Twizzlers (a fat-free snack by the way, it says so on the package), and Hot Tamales! I even had some Pringles, BABY!! And on Saturday I grabbed an ice cream cone. Wooohooo!!!! I was living on the edge!

On Saturday we slept in 'til about 9:30 then headed out to the beach. Cindy, a connoisseur of sunshine, says that the optimal tanning time is 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Didn't know that. Did you? This turned out to be true to some extent as she ended up getting way more sun than she wanted. She wasn't pink, she was RED! and hurting.

Later that evening went to Gulf Shores for dinner at Mikee's. Pretty good.

Sunday morning got up and headed to Chunchula, AL to preach. Had a great time together.

Get this - we took her camera and didn't take a single picture! Neither of us could believe it! Oh well.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. Need a speaker that speaks truth with wisdom? Get Randles. College or students. He's good. But the late nights and early mornings - WHEW!!

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
