Don't want to be here

Ever just not want to be in the office? That's me this morning. The weather is incredible here in north Mobile - it's 53 degrees heading up to 80 with 8 mph winds and clear skies. I can think of bajillion things I could be doing other than being couped up in the office.

Here are just a few of them:
  • Riding my bike (it's supposed to rain tomorrow and I really want to get in some miles)
  • Riding my Harley (wind in my face, cruising down the road)
  • Going to the beach (wind, sun, waves - nuff said)
  • Working in the yard/around the house (always something to do)
  • Going for a drive in Pia (that's my Passat) with the roof back and the tunes blaring
  • Going to a park to read and write (just relaxing under a tree)
  • Going kayaking/canoing (paddling down a cool-water river)
  • Did I say ride my bike? (oh yeah, I think I said that already)
These are just a few off the top of my head. What would you do on a day like today?

Robert - yeah, that's what they say. It hasn't rained a drop this morning. It's supposed to be here this afternoon.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? Need a speaker that speaks truth with wisdom? Get Randles. College or students. He's good. But the late nights and early mornings - WHEW!!

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that?
