What was I thinking?

What was I thinking this morning? Actually, I wasn't.

I got up this morning thinking I would get ready and head on into the office to have my quiet time and get busy. We have our Starting Point dinner tomorrow evening - it's our new member dinner and I oversee it's production. I love it, but it gets a bit crazy for me the week before, the week of, and the week after the dinner. Today is the day to print material for the participants and the pastors. I need to make some changes, print and proof it before final print. It's a pain sometimes, but it makes for a better presentation.

So, in my morning mindset I get up and head into the kitchen where I feed the cats and make coffee. Today I'm only making enough to take into the office with me. Then I head out to the dogs to pet them, be the disperser of treats, and fill their water bowl. Wonder back into the bedroom to get ready.

Grab a yogurt, the coffee, and stroll to the car (which I'm selling if anyone is interested in a 2001 VW Passat GLX with V6), load up and head out.

Fast forward to the office. I'm listening to some Shane & Shane, sitting on the couch in my office - feet propped up, reading God's Word and a book for my morning time with God when I took a drink of my coffee. I look around to see if I'm on Candid Camera or something, an eye-brow raised, and wondering who switched my coffee? It just doesn't taste right. Something's amiss in the coffee universe. . . . . . . .

Ahhhhh. . .then it hits me - I forgot to add FRESH coffee grounds this morning. So, the coffee I'm drinking - trying to drink - was made with yesterday's grounds. I RE-BREWED!! I'M A RE-BREWER!!!!!!!

"Breathe. . .in. . . out. . .in. . .out." That's what kept going through my head! My heart was racing. . .pulse intensifying. . .mind wondering. What will my fellow coffee aficionados think? What if people find out - then what? Will Starbucks take me back? Is this a trend? What was I thinking? I WASN'T!!

Maybe I need to see a professional about this. Wonder if there's a therapist who specializes in coffee issues? Hmmm. . .

Then again, maybe I'll just make a pot of FRESH brewed in the office and get on with the day. I think that's what I'll do.

Have a great one,
Mike

Robert,

It started with "WHAT THE. . ." and went downhill from there. Not able to reprint it. :)
