So what really did happen yesterday

So what did I really do yesterday. I did work in the yard for a little bit. I've been sick and after a while my energy dropped considerably, so I headed inside. Will probably do some more work in the yard on Saturday.

Ok, so here's the scoop:
  1. Balanced my checkbook. I had been off a little and it was driving me crazy. Yesterday, I found where I was off. The world is aright now - at least Mike's world is aright.
  2. Began filing - this isn't a big deal for most people. It's a big deal for Mike - or anyone who likes to file by pile. I literally sat in the floor of my office and went through every piece of paper on my desk, credenza, and on the floor. Actually, I can see the glass on my desk now - WOOHOOO!! I can see the glass on my credenza as well. Still have some papers, old receipts, etc. to shred, but that's a chore to be done while watching the tube.
  3. Did some Christmas Shopping
  4. Attended a dinner for Here's Life - a ministry who does missions to Africa. This past summer a group from our church went to do medical missions and VBS. Over 11,000 people prayed to accept Christ in less than 10 days. They average 1 of 2 people who hear the gospel pray to receive Jesus as their Lord. Now that's a movement of God.
  5. Home to feed the kennel, then to bed.
So, whether I worked in the yard or not, I did have a pretty busy day.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? Need a speaker that speaks truth with wisdom? Get Randles. College or students. He's good. But the late nights and early mornings - WHEW!!

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now.
