New Socks

Last night I finally broke down and bought a package of socks. Not just any socks, but good ol' white Hanes socks. In that package were 6 pairs of eyes-rollong-in-the-back-of-your-head comfort. The great thing about new socks is how cushiony they are. Don't know if cushiony is a word, but it best describes how great new socks feel. They seem to make you walk a little lighter. Know what I mean?

My other socks were beginning to wear thin. I know when they're getting thin when while I'm wearing them they begin to slide off my feet. You see. . .I have skinny, narrow feet - is that redundant? Hmmm. . .Anyway, because I have skinny, narrow feet my socks begin to slide off - EVEN WHILE I'M WEARING THEM! Now there's a wierd feeling.

Now if you ever want a cool feeling, just gather up about $8 or $9, purchase some new socks, slide them on the old steppers and feel the "aaahhhh"!

So, now you know.
New socks = cushiony
Old socks = sliding off my feet

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? Need a speaker that speaks truth with wisdom? Get Randles. College or students. He's good. But the late nights and early mornings - WHEW!!

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
