Christmas Time

Well, Christmas will be here very soon. Much sooner that I would like. It's mainly because by now Karen has all the Christmas shopping done and has given me her list of gifts and where to buy them, leaving me with only to surprise her with a gift or two. NOW, I have to go out and decide what to buy, where to buy it, and how much to spend. MAN, it's a lot of work!!

Oh well, I guess it's my job now. I just hate deciding what to buy everyone. It's not that I don't like Christmas. I love it!! I love the atmosphere. I love the music. Some of my favorite songs are Christmas songs. Which leads me to a pet pieve of mine, why can't we sing these songs during the rest of the year? I mean, O Come, O Come Emmanuel? Why can't I sing about Christ coming throughout the year? Oh well. Some of you are probably thinking, "Sounds like a personal problem." You're probably right.

One of the things I love most about Christmas? Watching people, especially children, open their gifts. I get a rush every time they open a present and an incredible smile comes across their face.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
