Hook 'em Horns!

WOW! Can you say "whoopin!" That's exactly what the Longhorns did to the Sooners - finally! 45-12, Horns didn't play to keep from loosing, the played to win. They took years of defeat at the hands of the Sooners and turned it into sweet vic-to-ry!!

Some say that Adrian Peterson was hurt, so OU was handicapped. Look, UT was handicapped for at least three years when Phil Simms was quarterback. Stop bellyaching. Yes, UT is for real and Vince Young is a very real candidate for the Heisman.

Whether or not the Horns will go undefeated, don't know. They have a couple of potentially troubling games to get through - Texas Tech in Austin and Texas A&M in College Station. They get through these two games and they should be playing for a National Championship. Mack Brown better not blow this one.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
