Hog Wild!!

It has definitely been a while since I have posted an entry. Wow! I can't believe it's been so long.

Anyway. . .this is not about me becoming a Razorback fan, I mean let's get real! Why would I do that? When your team is #2 and your second favorite team is #1, why in the world would I support the "Hogs"? Ok, enough about college football. This is a post for another time.

Today's post is not about pigs, raising pigs, football, or anything of the sort. It's about motorcycles. That's right - Harley Davidsons, HOGS of the righteous sort. The Granddaddy of motorcycles. The very one that so many people own, dream to own, or in my case borrow (sort of).

This is the story of how I, Mike, came into the guardianship and ridership of a Harley Davidson.

One of the singles in their church, Ron, was called up by Allstate to help with hurricane relief efforts, etc., and being sent to Baytown, Texas. Ron just happened to own a Harley Davidson Sportster (see picture to the left). Ron also happens to know that Mike likes motorcyles. Ron asked Mike if he could store his bike at Mike's house. Mike quickly assured Ron that it would be OK! Ron delivered the bike to Mike's house Sunday night after church. Not only did Ron leave the bike, he also left the key, his leather Harley Davidson jacket, and his two helmets with explicit instructions to "Ride It!"

So now Mike (that's me, the one with the really big grin!) has access to a motorcycle. Not just any motorcycle. . .a Harley Davidson. Mike's been riding it around the neighborhood, getting used to it and until he gets a motorcycle license. This Thursday, Mike is going to get his motorcycle license and a helmet that fits (Ron has a much bigger head that Mike's little pin head). Then maybe a tattoo, let his hair grow long, some boots and dirty jeans, maybe even a new ministry!! Naaaaa, probably not. But he will be riding a Harley Davidson!!

I wonder if God had a motorcycle, would it be a Harley? Probably!!

Mike
