Let's Get It On!!

OK, the NFL has already had a game - don't get all the pre-season hype, it's nothing but a bunch of scrimmages set to make the organizations more money. Agree or disagree, it's not the point.

Here's what where I want to go - NCAA!! Now that I'm in Alabama I have to get used to other conferences besides the Super Conference - oh that would be the BIG 12. Sorry, I'm a little biased, but you understand.

I am willing to give it a shot, though. I don't own anything in crismson with a white "A" or the phrase "Roll Tide" on it yet, but they are the team I will be rooting for this fall. While my blood is still burnt orange and my hand automatically makes the "Hook 'em Horns" sign, I will be rooting for Alabama.

In spite of these pious but deep ramblings I am ready for college football. Now there's hype, there's fan(atics)s, there's commitment and loyalty. I'm ready to gather with a gang of crazed fans just for the atmosphere!!!

Oh yea, it also means it will be cooler.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now.
