New Buddy


I may have just adopted another buddy. No I'm not talking about a friend I can go to a movie with or ride motorcycles with. He's not even a two-legged buddy. He's the four-legged kind.

While I was running today I came across this new friend who followed me home. I couldn't find anyone who knew where he came from. So. . .he met Mix and they got to know each other as only dogs can do, then they played for a little while. Then he met the girls. Now he's kind of keeping to himself in the back of the yard.

He's a blue-heeler, like Mix. But he's younger and has a white band around his neck and chest. His face, ears, back, and legs look just like Mix.

I haven't named him yet. I may try to see if I can find a home for him first. He's a great little dog. We'll just have to see. Photos to come.

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? Question for You

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. Favorite Cereals

As I was scarfing down a bowl of Total I was thinking about my favorite cereals. Cereal has always been a part of our family - it didn't matter whether it was grabbing a bowl before school and sitting with my Grandpa as he at a bowl of Raisin Bran after church on Sunday nights. Growing up I had my faves. I would still eat them, but me and a lot of sugar in the morning is no bueno. As many of you can attest, it's not like I need more sugar! So I also have favorites now. Here's my list of favorite cereals: Then Cap'n Crunch - the original and all-time favorite, and breakfast with the Cap'n - how do you beat that? Frosted Flakes - don't get soggy in milk Peanut Butter Crunch - Cap'n Crunch and peanut butter, what's not to like? Wheat Chex - add a banana, mmmm. . .mmmmm. . .good!
