And It's Only Wednesday. . .

That's right folks, it's only Wednesday!

You could take that statement a couple of ways:
  1. If you're a guy, you're probably thinking that you still have a couple of days left before you start your Christmas shopping. So to you, the statement would read something like this. . . "it's only Wednesday!" And just so that you'll know - I'm just about done with my shopping!
  2. If you're anything like me, you may be thinking that it's only Wednesday and you still have another couple of busy days ahead. So you would read the statement like this. . . "it's only WEDNESDAY!?"
And for me it's not just that there's a couple of busy days ahead, it's that I love Christmas morning. . .always have, always will. In a couple of days we'll wake up on the day we celebrate the Savior's birth and have a great morning with family and friends. I love the getting up, the looks on everyone's face as they open gifts, the smiles of those who gave them. . .it's the whole atmosphere! Man, I don't think there's a day I enjoy or cherish more.

So, yeah, it's only Wednesday. Got a full day today. Christmas Eve services tomorrow - 3:00, 5:00, & 7:00 pm. Then I get to hang out with my sweetie and enjoy Christmas.

It's only Wednesday. . .

Camp is Good!

I'm home from a week at a student camp - Camp Chaparral . I was there teaching students how God created them for a place of ministry and encouraging them to involved - somehow. . .somewhere. I was also the guest of Pam & Steve Sparks. They are wonderful friends from my Lufkin days. Steve is the Assistant Director of the camp. Better give a shout out to the staff - Hey Mike, David, Heather, Doug, Tim, Nate, Govani (spelling?) - thanks for a great week. These guys work really, really hard to make your camp stay the greatest. And it was. But I'm exhausted! I'm beginning to wonder if I'm getting too old for this kind of thing? Question for You

I was listening to one of the local radio stations - kwyq, The Way FM, this morning on the way to the office. They were asking the question, "If you could live in a totally Christian community would you?" Responses varied. I would be interested in knowing what you think. What was I thinking?

This morning was run day. So after some coffee, a yogurt, and time with God, I laced up the New Balances and hit the road. What I didn't realize when I started was the workout I would endure. Started off easy enough - just like most of my other workouts, a good pace to get warmed up. Then the thought hit me - let's push it. Why does this thought always seem to come out of nowhere? I don't have a clue. So I hit a fartlek. NO! It's not what you think so stop grinning or laughing or whatever you're doing. I came across this workout running with my friend Stacey. Stacey ran fartleks in high-school when he ran the mile and 2-mile for Alvord . Went to state in each. He then ran cross-country for what is now Texas A&M -Kingsville, Texas . If you don't know anything about Kingsville, Texas it's freakin' hot there. Anyone who runs in that heat can run anywhere. So what's a fartlek? According to Wikepedia Fartlek , which means ‘speed play’
